Project Overview
WIBDI Samoa champions organic family farming across the South Pacific. We partnered with them to design a cohesive packaging system for their tea, coconut oil blend and Mosooi soap lines — celebrating Samoan tradition while meeting the standards of international retail shelves.\n\nEvery pack was engineered around the "Technology · Tradition · Trade" mark, a hand-drawn tapa border and a restrained ingredient-forward layout. The result is a family of products that reads instantly as Samoan-made, premium and trustworthy.
Objectives
Design a scalable packaging system that honours Samoan tradition, communicates organic provenance clearly, and works across pouches, labels and cartons.
Design Challenge
Multiple product formats (tea pouch, oil label, soap carton) had to share one visual language while keeping each product recognisable at a glance in a crowded retail environment.
Creative Process
1. Research & artefact study — pulled reference from siapo (tapa) motifs and existing WIBDI marks.\n2. Pattern system — built a modular border and iconography kit that scales from tiny labels to large pouches.\n3. Layout templates — locked typography, ingredient hierarchy, batch/flag placement.\n4. Print-ready delivery — CMYK files, dielines and print supervision on-island.
